What is Chords?


The first music-streaming service run by independent artists for independent artists and fans.




How does Chords work for artists?


You will earn $7.00/Month per supporting fan.
(1000 Fans supporting you on Chords = $7000.00/Month).
Each time a fan decides to support you, the duration of their support will last for 1 month and will automatically renew each month. If the fan decides to support a different artist , the $7.00/Month will switch to the new supported artist. If a new fan discovers you through a Chords Fan Page and decides to support you, a $1.00 discount will be applied to the monthly membership of the Fan through which you were discovered. This will give an extra incentive to your supporting fans to help you grow your supporting fan base.




How does Chords work for fans?


Each time an artist gets a new supporter through your profile, a $1.00 discount will be applied every month to your monthly membership.
The duration of this discount will last as long as the new supporter
is supporting the specific artist he/she discovered through your
profile.
You only need 10 supporting fans through your profile to bring your monthly membership down from $9.99 to FREE.
If the new supporter decides to support a different artist through
someone else’s profile, the discount will switch to the new referring fan.

Can I delete my Chords account?

How do I delete my Chords Account?


The Chords account deletion is a 3 steps process.

Step1:

Go to your Settings page and click on the "Delete Account" button on the bottom of the page.

Step 2:

Fill in the form and click on the "Send Confirmation Email" button.

Step 3:

Once you click on the "Send Confirmation Email" button, a prefilled email will open automatically. Please make sure to send us this email in order to confirm you account deletion.




How long will it take for my Chords account to be deleted?


Your account and its data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Until then, your account will still be active, meaning your profile will be visible and you are welcome to use the platform as usual. If your billing cycle renews before we are able to process your request, we will issue a full refund for the amount charged after we received your email.

What are rewards?


Rewards are for your Chords Supporting Fans! Think of this as a special treat for your fans that decide to support you.
A lot of Chords Artists release bonus content early, host google hangouts, or ask their Chords Supporting Fans for ideas for their next creation.
It's really up to you!
Rewarding your fans isn't required but are a great way to maintain your current supporting fan base, keep them happy and get new ones.




How do I distribute my rewards?


Your analytics page gives you access to your direct and indirect supporters emails. This will allow you to reach out to them directly and offer them the rewards of your choosing.
We believe that interacting directly with your fans creates a stronger bond with them and therefore strengthen the loyalty of your fans.
Let’s be honest here! Would you rather receive a general notification or a personal message when it comes to interaction?
Take care of your fans, make them feel unique!




What are good rewards to offer?


Early access to concert tickets. Your Chords Fans will probably be first in line for tickets anyway, so why not let them purchase tickets before the general public..
An easy way to fill those seats with the people who love your music the most. Discuss lyrics and meaning Were your songs are inspired by a long-lost lover?
A family pet? Wherever the inspiration came from, your Chords Fans want to know!
Show some love to your Chords supporting Fans and write them a song! Ok--it doesn't have to be a love song with their name as the title; even just a little inspiration or lyric about them will do the trick. ;) Backstage pass Invite Your Chords Supporting Fans backstage at your next gig!
They'll be stoked to see you play and even more excited to see what the show is like from your perspective. Tutorials or breakdowns Your Chords Supporting Fans want to know how you did it!
Offering a behind the scenes look at your creative process is a fantastic middle-range reward that can be incredibly fun to make. Google Hangout! This is a great reward for your Chords Supporting Fans! Invite them to join you in an online video hangout
where topics can range anywhere from what ideas they have for your next piece of content. Name in credits Writing a new song? Making a new video clip?
Crediting your Chords Supporting Fans directly in what you create is such an awesome reward for them and super easy for you!

Referral Discounts

What are referral discounts?


Referral discounts are offered to fans for referring / promoting the artist they support.




How does referral discounts work?


There are two ways for a referral discount to be applied towards a fan's membership:

• Every chords fan profile comes with an "Invite" button which allows fans to share a referral link with their community.

Evey time a new member signs up via that link, the referring fan (who shared the link) will benefit of a $1.00 discount towards their $9.99 monthly membership.

• Every Chords Fan profile comes with a "Support" button which allows any fan already on the chords platform to support the artist displayed on that fan page.

Every time a support button is clicked on a fan profile, the fan (owner) of the profile will benefit of a $1.00 discount towards their $9.99 monthly membership.




How long does a referral discount last for?


A referral discount applied to a fan's membership will automatically renew on a monthly basis as long as the referred fan is supporting the artist they discovered through the referring fan's profile.

If the reffered fan decide to support a new artist through an other fan's profile, then the discount will switch to the new referring fans's membership.




Will I keep my discounts if I decide to support a new artist?


No.

Every time you decide to support a new artist, all discounts earned while supporting the previous supported artist will stop and your membership will go back to $9.99/month.

That being said, as soon as you decide to start supporting a new artist, every new referral you originate will apply a $1.00 discount towards you membership.




Why can't I keep my discounts if decide to support a new artist?


When you refer a new fan, you earn a discount that lowers your monthly membership.
The amount discounted from your membership affects the amount the artist you support earn from your membership.
Althouth the artist gets paid less from your membership, they would still get a new supporting fan through you referral which makes up for the discount applied to your membership.

If you kept your discounts when supporting a new artist, the new supported artist would not benefit of the new supporting fans associated with your discounts and would not get paid the full amount from your membership.

This is why we believe that it is fair to associate all discounts earned through the referrals brought by a fan with the artist currently supported during the time the referrals occured.

When you decide to support a new artist, from that moment on all new referrals you originate will be associated with the new artist supported and the discounts associated will be applied towards your membership.




How does a referral discount impact an artist's earnings?


Out of the $9.99 Fan monthly membership, $7.00 is distributed to the artist and Chords takes a $2.99 fee.

If a fan refers 10 new fans, they would benefit of a $10.00 discount towards there membership in which case neither the artist or Chords get paid.

We believe that everyone should pitch in including us!
